The best part of leadership is helping other people WIN!

Our favorite event, Team & Leadership, is upon us once again. There is something so special about the synergy and learning that takes place over the course of our time together; it’s truly the best when whole teams learn and grow together.

And it’s even better when they come back with bigger teams, new challenges and huge wins to celebrate!

That is truly what this event is all about.

Being a leader and a teacher is never about being special, or having more authority or importance than others. And it’s definitely not about more money, bigger houses, or status.

It’s about using your skills and influence for good and being so relentlessly focused on IMPACT that you simply can’t entertain anything that takes away from that.

The best part about being a leader is helping other people win! It always has been and always will be.

People will NEVER forget how you made them feel.

Next week we have a young man who has been with us for 7 years wrapping up his care due to his family moving away. The news of him leaving made me wax a little nostalgic. I wrote these words two years ago and they still ring true. I hope they always do.

Whenever we get an email with a cancellation attached, regardless of the reason, it stings. We’ve all felt it, that pit in your stomach while reading it and thinking about the loss of chiropractic from their life. With genuine care, comes the concern, the sting is unavoidable.

The truth is people cancel things all the time. Things they enjoy, things they value, things that positively impact their health. Money (or lack thereof), time, travel and changes in the relationship are all reasons why.

***“People will always remember how you make them feel.”***

This is the number one thing I remember when someone stops.
Even if they are unable or unwilling to see why chiropractic care is so crucial in their lives they will...

Not all content is good content, and not all marketing is good marketing

Check out the top two mistakes we see happening again and again with Social Media Content Marketing for family chiropractors:

  1. Talking about the same old back and neck pain stuff, even once in a while .
  2. Chatting about all sorts of NON-chiropractic stuff , like nutrition, toxins, wellness, primitive reflexes, consciousness, innate, and more!

Now, let me tell you the first and most important rule of Social Media Content Marketing is to stick with consistency. Yep, that means you've gotta keep at it! But here's the thing, it also makes me a little nervous if the content isn't super great and perfectly planned!

If you're really serious about building a rockin' Neuro-Focused Peds + Family Chiropractic brand and totally owning your local market, you need to be super committed. It's not just about posting 1-2x or more every single day; it's also about being consistent with what you talk about and what you don't talk about.

Now, I know this might not be what everyone wants to hear , and...

Just How Important is it to Hire "A-TEAM" Players?

Two years ago, we increased our commitment to hiring only A players on our team by 10x. Like many other lessons, this is one we learned through experience.

Waiting too long to hire or fire can create a situation where hiring A-Team players is not our top priority. We might find ourselves using words like "for now" and "make it work" frequently in our vocabulary, which can be harmful.

We must put an end to this.

This morning, I heard a mind-blowing stat. For every high-performing "A" player on your team, their mere presence increases the other team members' performance by 15%.

On the other hand, for every lower-performing "B" team member, they lower the other team members' performance and energy by 30%. So, not only does that "make due" person perform less, but they also bring everyone else's performance down as well.

Now, considering how crucial it is, hiring and retaining your A team should be a top priority.

Caring for the Toughest Perfect Storm 🌪 Cases are Never Easy to Start Out

In fact, the first few weeks of adjusting can be the toughest. What if they don’t calm down, sit still, and go into the room for an adjustment? What if I can’t get the primary? Are the adjustments making changes?
All questions that go through our minds as we navigate these kiddos unlocking during the start of the care plan.

I don’t know who said it first, but I love the quote, “God doesn’t always call the qualified; he qualifies the called.”

So for today's Teaching Tuesday I wanted to share the 3 steps I use in the adjusting and communicating process to help in the most difficult adjusting situations.

HOW You Hire is Just as Important as WHO You Hire!

In the last 3 years, we have added 6 additional CA’s to our team. Each time, we started with deciding who that next incredible patient was that we wanted to bring on board to chase this mission and vision with us.

Among them were professionals who currently held their “perfect job”, at-home moms who have several young children, Perfect Storm moms with schedules filled with therapies and appointments galore, and special needs moms who have children with rare disease diagnoses that need around-the-clock care.

And yet we asked.

But before we did, we cast the mission and vision of where we are headed with Pediatric Chiropractic and where we saw them in that.

We didn’t start with hours , job requirements, or pay scale.
We started with INSPIRATION and the INVITATION to explore a life of purpose filled with passion for chiropractic and service to others.

They all said yes.

The bottom line is this if we want all in, inspired, and on fire for chiropractic A team...

Communicating Focus, Attention and School Struggles to Parents

We know the answers to the test… it's not a medication or outside-in approach…it’s what’s going on inside the nervous system that truly impacts kiddos when they struggle.

But how to communicate a different paradigm to Mom and Dad?…

This took time and plenty of reps to practice the balance between the complex science of the Hippocampus, Amygdala, and Pre-frontal cortex, along with the simplification of “too much noise in = too much noise out!”

Shout out to the PX PS 10D Model of Subluxation Part 7 - Prefrontal Cortex w/ Dr. Scott Haggerty in The PX Core Content Library for the full-on science deep dive into this!

If you’ve struggled to explain this on a Day 1, 2, or during table talk, this quick recording and whiteboard ‍ example will help!

5 Extra Doses of Truth About How Social Media + Content Marketing

Alright, Peds + Family Chiros, it’s time for an extra dose (or 5) of truth about how social media + content marketing really actually works today and what it takes to succeed in this space.

If you’re a practicing chiro like me, every inbox you have is constantly being hit up by supposed “expert” social media + content marketers that “specialize” in chiropractic.

Here’s the first truth you need to know (and hopefully already do) — 99.9% of them are full of .

Even the ones who have all the math and stats to back up their work and tell you how many New Patients they generate through their done-for-you social media content, emails , or Facebook Ads forget to mention one key fact — they’re all low-quality back + neck pain patient.

Until PX+ came around, not a single crew out there had really mastered the art of creating content specifically curated for moms , helping build your brand and generate real results for a...

Compassion is Empathy in Action

This week in PX we trained on The 5 Mom Languages. This communication training focused on how we can better understand the lengths different types of moms have often been to before they have come to us for help. We also learned how to identify important connection pieces that can help us educate and empower them.

I once heard Tony Ebel say; Compassion is Empathy in Action. Gosh, I love that.

When you combine meaningful Connection and Guidance with Action, you embody the chiropractic trifecta, Hope, Answers & Help!
