Brain Age 🧠 vs Body Age πŸ‘¦

Kiddos that struggle with developmental delays often exhibit behaviors not consistent with their size, structure, or motor ability.

This can be a meaningful conversation with parents during the healing journey, especially for kiddos struggling with autism, sensory processing, or other cognitive delays, as an initial change of the nervous system does not equal calm.

Substitute the word 'calm' for 'curious.' When a nervous system wakes up, a child's sensory system can be more seeking or sensitive, and behaviors can return to the "terrible 2's" or challenging rules or decisions.

As stressful as these behaviors are for parents - they are extremely good clinically and a sign the nervous system is catching up!

Here are the quick keys to celebrate the fantastic healing journey and support parents through the tough changes.

90% of chiropractic coaches all focus on the same thing

It seems that 90% of chiropractic coaches all focus on the same thing (and pretty much only this thing) —  Mindset.

So if that many people talk about it, it’s got to be important. Right? It absolutely is.

But the real key and difference maker is figuring out that most do just that, talk about it.

But then they don't actually teach the strategic, actionable, real-life steps to earn your way to a strong mindset.

Guess what won’t do it?

Listening to stories and lessons from others, or standing in front of a mirror speaking affirmations into it and “holding space” for becoming your “best self” — or whatever any and all of that actually means anyway.

This is what WILL get the job done :

1. Surround yourself with humble, hungry, action takers ‍(the last element being the most important one there)

2. Commit to consistent, daily + weekly outputs + actions directed at whatever thing you are most challenged with.

Don’t have...

The Difference Between Brand Building and Scripts + Sales!

I am so very thankful that a few business + marketing mentors taught me this lesson early on in practice because after doing just ONE spinal screening in my first year of practice… I was certain I never wanted to do one again in my entire life.

Now, can screenings, scripts, sales pitches, discounted exam pop-ups on your website, and $19 Facebook “voucher” ads build a practice? Yes, they can. That’s why you see them everywhere.
But, that’s a practice built upon the sand, not the rock.

A practice built around screening, scripting, and sales tactics continually extracts and lowers the Brand Value + Equity in their community… and comes with short-term gains but long-term “side effects” and damage to your brand and business over time.

Instead, we have always taken the long game, brand-building approach with our practice. We absolutely deploy the “Give, Give, Give, Give…” strategy by continually pumping out...

"I’m Happy" πŸ™Œ

This Monday evening, another incredible group of patients and parents shared their Stories of Hope in our Green Chair Series. Each one of them is so excited for the opportunity to tell their stories because they know this is how others will be led to their own healing.

I had the privilege of interviewing one of our teenage patients, Blake, who came to us for Functional Neurological Movement Disorder, which manifested as severe Tics and verbal outbursts.

Thankfully Blake’s mom, Nicole, had a personal connection to a PX doc originally from our area and referred them to us. Blake started with us early in the onset of the condition, worsening by the minute.

Blake explained during our interview that the Tics had quickly gone from a couple of instances over a week to taking over all the waking hours of every day.

During the interview, Blake also shared details about significant mental health struggles that they had experienced for over the last decade.

This included...

How many of us used to look at a thermal scan saying Red = Bad and White = Good? ‍

Thanks for being honest and if you skipped this simplification, more power to you!

Here are 3 to look for in a scan series of a teenager who recently started care in our office…

Is a β€œReferral Only” Practice a Real Thing?

We get it busy, full throttle, practicing Peds + Family Chiropractors... nothing sounds more magical and wonderful than a “referral only” practice where you get the exact amount of new patients you want and need simply by providing great care and a great patient experience.

Well, here is the truth — that IS where all great practices begin and what their foundation must truly be.

But if you want to GROW your practice and expand your impact saving and serving kids in your community instead of just staying in “maintenance” mode… then listen in here as Dr. Tony breaks down how referrals are generated in a Peds + Family practice, and how crucial your online + social media game is today.

Why Your Physical Space Matters

I wish I had learned long ago how much your PHYSICAL space matters when it comes to increasing your productivity greatly and your impact in this world (and therefore income)!

Every single one of us should not only have dedicated ”space” in our weekly calendar for Learning + Training (growth), CEO (business), and Marketing (content creation)... but also it’s crucial to have a dedicated physical space to GSD in!

I started with a back closet at PWC, then a back office and home office… and now we’ve got an entire office building and studio dedicated to this mission we're on at PX!

The key for you is to START somewhere. Make the space in your calendar and then find the special physical spot you can be at your most clear thinking and creative!

I highly recommend reading Willpower Doesn't Work by Benjamin Hardy. In Willpower Doesn't Work, he explains that willpower is nothing more than a dangerous fad-one that is bound to lead to failure....

Your Team is CRUCIALLY Important to your CULTURE!

Last week we had the pleasure of holding one of our favorite events, Team and Leadership. This event is so incredible largely because whole teams attend and grow together. During our training, we have a special session training with the CA’s. We were excited to welcome a new team member, Crystal, to our teaching team for the afternoon session.

As she began sharing and went on to teach with Jen and I that afternoon, I was so absolutely in awe of Crystal’s first time sharing with us.

She was eloquent, relatable, joyful, and compassionate. Just as she is every day in practice. She was all that and more.

It highlighted some traits we look for our team to embody. And they’re crucially important because we can’t maintain a quality culture without them. *

Our practices' culture is potentially the most important thing because, without a great team culture, we don’t have the healing space and synergy required to help our patients achieve the best outcomes...
