It's Easy to Show Up for the EASY Ones...But We NEED to Show Up for the HARD Ones Too!

A few years back, I started documenting more of the incredibly meaningful experiences I get to have as a CA. From the peaks and high points of being a Care Advocate to the lowest pits we experience, I have bared my soul here on these pages. And of all the things I have shared and experienced, the one being shared today is and will always be my favorite.

The position we are in as Care Advocates and Chiropractors is one of the most precious divine appointments one can have in this life.

We come alongside people during the worst times in their lives, and we get to be part of their path to healing. This means that we often experience people when they are at their worst, whether that be physically, spiritually, emotionally, or all of the above.

It can be tough. They can be tough.

This week we have connected with some of the most complex cases we have taken on to date. Patients that have endured traumas and diagnoses that are almost unfathomable.

And many of them have been tough in more...

3 Patterns πŸ“Š To Look Deeper At In Thermal Scans

How many of us used to look at a thermal scan saying Red = Bad and White = Good? ‍

Thanks for being honest and if you skipped this simplification, more power to you!

But honestly, it can be hard to know what to look for in every Insight Thermal scan series throughout a Neurologically base Care Plan.

Here are 3 to look for in a scan series of a teenager who recently started care in our office…

Seizure Free 1 Month into Care

I freaking LOVE what we get to do every day!

This rockstar dude is one month into care and hasn't had one single seizure since starting... AND is sleeping like a boss, has less anxiety , and way more joy !!!

For us, these massive W's we get to see in practice every single day reinforce for us again and again what it really takes to see incredible clinical results with even the toughest of neurological cases . That quick overview list is:

  1. A real, actual Neuro-Focused Care Plan (he started daily for 2 weeks)
  2. Neuro-TONAL adjustments (started Toggle, then Talksy + SOT, then worked up to HVLA)
  3. Adjust the Primary / Major ONLY (no flying 7's allowed, ever)
  4. Add in copious amounts of empowerment , hope , and joy
  5. Don't mess with probiotics, primitive reflexes, or therapies when the CNS is not ready and doesn't need it (they'd already done all that, plus medications)

✨WE BELIEVE MOTHERS HERE!!✨

The last week has felt so incredibly powerful and energizing!!! Last Thursday night, we kicked off the global Perfect Storm Webinar. Parents have flooded into offices all over the country. I’m also looking at DMs in our inbox from families in Australia, Northern Ireland, Canada, and Mexico.

It has been a big week of momentum for kids and families worldwide. And it has been an absolutely awesome week to be a Hope Dealer.
For me especially, yesterday was one I will never forget. Mom after mom, kid after kid…I spent 9 hours straight at my desk, on the phone, connecting with parents who need us now more than ever.
Parents' desires are universally true…they yearn to be heard, taught, and led to higher ground. Parents who want nothing more than to be believed and know that THERE IS HOPE!!!

My connections yesterday reminded me of an interaction I had last year with a current Hope Dealing Tech CA on our team who, at the time, was a Perfect Storm mom that just...

When parents ask, "HOW and WHEN" will I know that Chiropractic is working?"

It may sound harsh to us in the chiro world , but most parents want to know when the symptoms will disappear! "

When will my child start talking." "When will they be doing homework and sitting still?"

And here we are as Principled Chiropractors screaming to ourselves, "It's ALL ABOUT FUNCTION of the NERVOUS SYSTEM!"

Don't we all have that internal dialogue daily... "We are only a month into the care plan. Give me some time before you ask about speech or grades!"

This teaching is a full-on "Bridge Training."

We can get mom and dad to see the beauty of what we do by meeting them where they are and explaining it through neuro-development.

That's what this week's video training is all about, looking at the developmental neurology and "softer signs" to assure Mom and Dad that we are headed in the right direction.

"They will accomplish X,Y, Z goals, but they need to accomplish these smaller goals first."

Better is BETTER

“How long should my video be?”
“How long should my workshops and talks be?”
“How long should my ROF take?”
“How long should my adjusting visit take?”

These are just a few of the questions I get asked regularly from chiropractors, who know that no one cranks out more videos , workshops , New Patient ROFs, and Adjustments than we do at PWC and PX Docs.

And in this world of advanced data analysis and metric tracking, everyone wants to have some specific number to shoot for. But in my opinion, they’re asking the wrong question.

Instead, we should all be asking something to the tune of, “What is the absolute best framework I could use for my videos , communication , and Neuro-Tonal Adjusting ?

We have videos that are 23 minutes long and crush and ones that are 23 seconds that crush. Why did they both do so well? They needed to succeed because they covered each of the key elements.

I’ve done 10-minute workshops that...

Chiropractic is not about those of us who serve in this profession and it’s not something we can own.

Sometimes we get a little crossed up about the purpose of chiropractic.

Chiropractic is not about those of us who serve in this profession, and it’s not something we can own.

Chiropractic is about the patients, it’s about the families, and it’s about healing.

Yesterday, I was reading through the goals for the care of a mom who is bringing her son to us from out of state for an intensive. This boy is on the maximum dose of meds he can be and has been told by doctors that there is nothing more they can do. He has hundreds of seizures a day.

Her goal for his care…. More good days

That’s it. She wants more days with him and better days for him.

Gifts lose value when held by someone they are not intended for. That’s what chiropractic is. It’s a gift meant for giving. Not for owning. Not for holding. Not for making it about us.

It’s about every parent and every child being able to have more and better days than the ones they have.

The more you post about + talk about wellness topics, the less you post about + talk about chiropractic.

This confuses your community, and the marketplace confused about what you do.

And when you confuse, you lose.

Keep your practice pure, principled chiropractic. And then keep your content pure, principled chiropractic.

Dr. Tony shares about the 3 different chiropractic practice models here in this video above!

Diving Deep into an HRV Case Study

I absolutely love the data that is available to us as Pediatric and Family Chiropractors!

And my favorite may be Heart Rate Variability (HRV)! We can see autonomic, balance, autonomic activity, and resting heart rate all in a 3-minute collection and then combo that with their story to communicate and care plan with simplicity!

For this Teaching Tuesday, I want to dig into a case where HRV truly helps tell the whole story! A teenager who is 'wound up and worn out,' anxious but de-motivated and tired ... and you can see it when we look intricately at her HRV reading.

Big thanks to the tech, software, and mission from CLA to give us this so we can look deeper into what is going on in the nervous system . Truly a game-changer!

"What We Learn with JOY, We Never Forget."

We are onboarding a new Tech CA to our team right now. This is an awesome mom in our practice, Traci, who has been on our “we’re going to hire you” list for over a year. As a Tech CA, the bulk of her onboarding and training is done by Crystal on our team, who runs our Tech department. *Crystal is one of the most calm, joyful, and connected people you will ever meet. *She thrives when teaching CA's.

I recently overheard Crystal calling PWC and pretending to be a patient so Traci could practice her phone skills. The role-playing they were doing on the phone made my heart swell with such pride. Then, Megan sat down with Traci as she worked to schedule “the patient” and talked her through some scheduling suggestions.

**Ugh, STOP IT RIGHT NOW!!! **

Nothing could make me more proud as a leader than to see the absolute excellence and JOY that they were having with this interaction. This is **EXACTLY WHY **hiring and onboarding is one of my favorite things...
