No one love the concept of "function over feeling" more than us chiros!
Until the Neuro Fuse Box poster came around from Well Aligned Product, it no doubt was the top selling poster in the profession (heck, maybe still is - they make one too).
But for this blog, I want to let you know the one absolutely pivotal place in your practice where the opposite is entirely true!
When it comes to building a lifetime family wellness practice, the 'Patient Experience' 💥 is the most important thing you need to focus on.
And for most chiros, we have a long ways to go 😬 .
Before we dig in on how to build that dream 💭 family wellness practice, let's be sure to define what it actually is. The one I'm talking about is where entire families come in every single week for care NOT just for pain, problems, and symptom relief... but because they know it's a crucial ingredient to a kick ass, full, vibrant 💪 life!
And most importantly, it's a KIDS-FIRST practice....
2021 kicked serious ass 🔥!
Yes, for many outside of our practice, our profession, and our style of people (of which there are 100+ million, see below)… it was a chaotic, stressful, and toxic year.
But if you were inside the rapidly expanding circle of influence we live in and lead from, this year was freaking fantastic 😃 !!!
I wake up every single day not only committed to living full out this incredible life God has granted me, but also getting the perspective and actions steps that led to it shared with as many of you as possible.
So in that light, here are the 3️⃣ most impactful, most helpful-to-you lessons I learned in 2021.
Read on, learn, and if inspired… get after these three things like never before in 2022!!!
Like all things in life, running a business (practice) means always seeking to maintain a delicate balance. I like to refer to this as the “sweet spot” and it very much appl...
As chiropractors we spend so much time sorting out and choosing our primary adjusting technique , and we wear that title with such pride that we mistakenly try and take it 'outward' to our community. What do I mean by that? I mean this stone cold reality is true - less than .1% of your community cares what technique you use my friend.
I've found that the vast majority of chiropractors are absolutely freaking phenomenal at adjusting (albeit not all by any means), but really terrible at the topic of this email -- brand positioning.
Read thru the Major Brand Mistakes that most Pediatric Chiropractors make, and then be sure to check out the end of the email
where you can get clear direction on what brand position you DO want to take... if you want to make massive impact on kids
and families in your community, and have a wildly successful
at the same time!
The number of chiropractic practices in every community that have the word 'Family'...
Never before have parents been absolutely over and done ✅ with the medical profession, and their focus on fear, treatment, etc.
Whether they've joined 1️⃣ or 100 holistic, crunchy Facebook groups... the gig is up. Parents today know that the traditional medical 👨⚕️ approach is crap 💩 .
They are leaving it in droves and looking 👀 for something different.
That's why now today, more than ever, it's absolutely crucial the message you share with your community (marketing 🎙) and patients must clearly provide contrast to the message of medicine 💊 .
Contrast just may be my favorite word. I'm obsessed with it! It allows you to stand out and stay separate and distinct from others, without bashing or talking down about them!
For the last 2️⃣ weeks we had six Perfect Storm 🌪 Intensive patients at our practice, staying for 2️⃣ weeks to get 2️⃣ adjustments per day. These patients especially have literally done it all, tried it all. They've exhausted the medical system of drugs 💊 and surgery...
Stress, Adaptability, and Technology are the language of today!
Blasphemous title right? 😳
Right now the part of our profession who loves slinging probiotics and slaying primitive reflexes with tiny paintbrushes 🖌 is jumping for joy 😁 at the title of this blog post, while simultaneously the green-jacket-wearing principled portion of it wants to beat me senselessly with a copy of "The Bigness of the Fellow Within" or trap me under a Zenith Hi-Lo table! 😝
Sorry to have roped you all in here, but the topic of this blog and take home point I want to drive home is NOT at all what you think it is with your first perceptions from the title!
I'm not talking about the clinical end of chiropractic here, because if you've been inside of our practice then you know that while we absolutely love and support our patients when needed with healthy living, lifestyle support, or any other host of wellness endeavors... it is NOT even remotely close to the focus of our clinical care programs, which are 💯 subluxation-centered, neurologically-focused, and as princi...
It was my very first month of practice, and I could not wait to sprint home and tell Kristina (my wife) the good news! I had just made an unreal community connection and professional partner with the Director of a local gym, and I was so certain it was going to be insanely fruitful for the growth of our new practice and a prime spot to do talks and screenings for New Patients!
This wasn't just any gym folks, it was THEE gym in Crystal Lake. It was huge, beautiful, fancy, and always busy. It was the "Cadillac" of gyms, run by the local hospital group that dominated health care in our community.
Which is perhaps the reason I was so insanely stoked about this connection -- not a single chiropractor had ever been able to infiltrate this premier gym, because it was medically-connected. But there was a family connection to the gym's boss lady through my wife, and also it turns out her kids were heading off to chiropractic and acupuncture school, because through their mom's firsthand expe...
Important Intro Disclaimer:
The style of practice depicted in this article is a very certain one. In today’s chiropractic market there is two prevailing start up styles that most DCs take on.
The first is the path that allows for taking on anyone with a pulse, screening every weekend offering free or cheap exams to anyone who walks by, accepting insurance, memorizing and regurgitating scripts, and working 80-100 hours a week with seemingly no end in sight. This path gets many to the “number” they want to hit in terms of PV/week, but typically leaves them falling fall short in the quality department - quality of patients they serve, and quality of life they live.
The other common path today is to bootstrap it. Start small. Rent a room from someone. Borrow and buy nothing. This path has many hero stories to it, and it absolutely can work. However, the majority of these stories you’ve never heard from because they never left that room, and many have likely left the profession beca...
