Certainty Matters More than Certification

As soon as I got done with chiropractic school, I could not wait to get into and finish up two more certifications. And I did just that, getting my Wellness Certification and Pediatric Certification within the first 2 years of practice. 

Now, I couldn't be happier with my decision to do that back then, but I just don't know if it'd be my decision and course of action if I had to do it all over again. Why? Well in now 14 years of running a large Pediatric, Prenatal, and Family Practice I've only had maybe two or three moms even ask or care about the initials behind our name. 

But in contrast, 💯 of the thousands of parents we've worked with have wanted us to have these things at 💯 : 

1. An ability to clearly communicate and articulate what we do, how it works, and why it will benefit their child and family 
2. An ability to put together a proven, detailed plan (Care Plan) and course of action for their child that makes sense 

And on top of that, it didn't matter if I had multiple options of how to adjust and care for them (things I learned during the 300+ hours of classroom certification training I went through) if I couldn't even get them in the front door in the first place! Yep, when it comes to the actual patient 'life cycle' we have to market to them before we can examine and adjust them. 

The challenge for me was that NONE of that was even remotely taught to me during any of that 300+ hours of advanced training. So by Year 3 of practice, I had more confusion than clarity... and it drove me crazy. 

What I ended up doing was taking bits and pieces of my education, coaching, and mentorship from literally 8-10 difference sources, and finally after many years of trial and error I got it to all come together nicely into one smooth, organized, effective, and efficient practice system. 

I'm pretty sure I have to thank my farmer 👨‍🌾 upbringing and skills for being able to take all these various pieces and parts and put them together like that! 

All of a sudden after years of frustration, confusion, and hundreds of thousands of dollars 💵 spent sorting it all out... we had exactly what we wanted!
