The absolute top things you want in every single team member are humility, hunger, and then this... the ability to take an idea π‘ , project π , and important plan you lay out and are excited about... and handle it start to finish π quickly and effectively, without hardly needing you at all!
Now for many of us as leaders/owners, we actually have team members who are more than capable of that, and want to... but we are in the way. We think we're "supporting" and "doing our job" with micromanaging and essentially doing it all ourselves anyway π€¦. But, we're straight up screwing things up.
That is what managers and dictators do, not leaders.
Leaders set the vision π for the plan and project, put the right people in charge, go over the outline π and resources π needed, and make sure to set the expectations of time β° , quality, and outcome.
Then, get out the way.
That happened in the best of ways for us this week at PWC and PX with Dr. Matt Hill! For 10+ years we've been developing, tinkering, refining our Care Plan Builder π§° and "calculator" π’ process and sharing it (teaching it) to Associate Docs, Intern Docs, and PX Docs.
BUT, it was never officially organized and systemized into an actual simple, effective spreadsheet π» ... which had been my dream for all that time, and a request from our tribe that needs help with Pediatric Care Planning so badly!

Well, we had a meeting at the start of this month where I finally LET GO π of this project myself and asked Dr. Matt to step up and complete it in time for our PX Zoom Training on April 20th.
Dude got it done β in under 48 hours.
Yes, 48 hours.
Amazing lesson re-learned for me that now even the biggest of projects most near and dear to me, I can let go and get out of the way! In the past few years I've learned to do that with the small and medium sized stuff, but now even the BIG πͺ ... I've got BIG time badasses on my team who can handle those too!
Meaning, we are about to take off and grow π even more... and fast π¨ !!!
If you want to grow, it's likely past time you let go π !
